Case Officer for the Joint National Investigation Group
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand centers, and client transportation.
We are currently seeking case officers for the Joint National Investigation Group within the planning section for probation. The workgroup is based in the planning section for probation. Its main tasks are to support local operations within probation and prison by conducting investigations related to electronic monitoring and release, as well as providing training and mentorship.
The goal of the group's work is to support the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's efforts with specific release measures and electronic monitoring as tools in the recidivism prevention work while contributing to increasing the agency's capacity development.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a case officer in the Joint National Investigation Group, you will face a challenging and developing assignment. The tasks are primarily focused on electronic monitoring and release investigations, which involve significant collaboration with local operations. In addition to investigations, the group also works on developing and implementing training and mentoring colleagues. The tasks largely involve independent work requiring coordination, processing, coordination, and follow-up.
The workgroup is spread across the country in locations such as Norrköping, Vänersborg, Karlskoga, Linköping, and Umeå. Possible placement locations include Norrköping, Malmö, Gothenburg, Härnösand, Örebro, or Stockholm.

We are looking for candidates who have:
- Completed upper secondary education in the form of a final certificate or diploma
- Several years of experience in independent work with processing/investigation within the prison and probation service
- Experience with investigations in the prison and probation service involving electronic monitoring and/or release investigations
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
- Good knowledge of the Office suite (Word and Excel)
- Good knowledge of KVR
It is advantageous if you have:
- Academic education deemed relevant by the prison and probation service
- Training in advanced probation, preferably with a focus on prison, release, community service, and electronic monitoring
- Experience working remotely
- Experience collaborating between different operational sites in the prison and probation service
- Experience training or mentoring others in the work
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in English
